The Take: I’ll spare y’all the rants on false solutions this time around but one of the (among the many) reasons I’m at best skeptical if not outright in favor of rejecting deep collaborations with the fossil fuel industry is because it’s clear that they’re endgame is impunity. These executives are trying to prevent any accountability for people-poisoning pollution or planet-warming greenhouse gasses. If these are “our friends”, who needs enemies?

The Take: Furthermore, where do you think the pressure is coming to dismantle the EPA as we’ve known it (which didn’t do enough before in previous administrations - though folks valiantly tried and got some wins)? When we allow certain communities to become sacrifice zones - its not a long slide before the commitment to clean air is luxury and not right for any of us.
