News Scan: Updates to Track 📰

This AI data center infrastructure is just latest iteration of certain people and places bearing extraction and pollution for the sake of progress. These data centers are such guzzlers of electricity that these companies (and the public officials participating in the economic development race-to-the-bottom) are building out fossil fuel plants to meet the demand. The Meta data center project in Richland Parish will require 3x the electricity demand of New Orleans. 3x! Also not talked about as much is how much FRESH water these use. The people see through the smoke and mirrors. Progress that doesn’t include us all, is not progress.

3.Who benefits, and how?

4.What else will this impact?
