Representatives from countries around the world are gathered this week in Geneva via the UN-sponsored Global Plastics Treaty. This event a continuation from the talks held last year in Busan, South Korea where these talks ended without an agreement, largely due to petro states obstructing the consensus-based process. These talks are critical because IF, and its a big IF, the treaty would be legally enforceable and could place caps on plastic production. We’re cheering on some of our readers who are there and involved in the negotiations! 💪🏾😤
